staggering breadth and depth of Detroit’s
unheralded songwriting genius, Ted Lucas.
Disc one “Strange Mysterious Sounds
(1965-1970)” highlights Ted’s flirtation with
psychedelic major label clout via his bands
the Spike Drivers, the Misty Wizards and the
Horny Toads. “Rainy Days (1970-1974)” will
be the solo acoustic warmth and charm most
familiar to folks already aware of Ted’s self-
titled “OM” album from 1975. “Impossible
Love (1979)” the lost second Album finds Ted
smooth and nearly “yacht rock” while never
betraying the true artistry and craft of the
once-in-a-generation talent of Ted Lucas.
