ALBOROSIE Nine Mile
The Nine Mile section in the parish of Saint Ann, is the birth and resting place of reggae legend Bob Marley. The mausoleum that houses his remains is a major pilgrimage site for fans from all over the world. Nine Mile is often associated with Rastafarian culture, which deeply influences reggae music. The community reflects the slower pace of life, deep connection to nature, and Afrocentric spiritual ethos that underpins roots reggae. This inspired the latest album from Alborosie, which includes his personal tribute “Trench Town Legend.”
“Come My Way,” the first single from the album is a reworking of “King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown,” another hallmark of Roots Reggae and Dub.
